Bringing Philosophy Back to its Roots

Share your wisdom and grow with other deep thinkers

what is Practical Philosophy Club

Since its inception, philosophy has always been about a love of wisdom. It’s only in recent times that philosophers have been seen as pompous academics, discussing ideas that have no practical application in real life. The original philosopher’s were doers; Socrates was a soldier, Marcus Aurelius was an emperor.

Philosophy isn’t some esoteric thing. It’s the root of our thinking, our minds, our ideas. Every thought we have is constructing our own personal philosophy and we’ve been building our own philosophies since we became sentient.

At Practical Philosophy Club, we are looking to make that philosophy conscious, to show that philosophy is available to all, and that it doesn’t belong hidden behind the ivory tower of academia. Anyone can use critical thinking to discern the best path forward.

“Those who pioneered the old routes are leaders, not our masters. There has yet to be a monopoly of truth; it lies open to everyone.” – Seneca the Younger, Stoic Philosopher

Who We Are

At Practical Philosophy, we believe in the power of deep, thoughtful discussions to bring people together and inspire critical thinking. Our mission is to build a global community of critical thinkers who approach the world non-dogmatically.

Our in-person weekly meet-ups are designed to provide a welcoming space for people from all walks of life to come together and engage in deep discussions on a variety of topics. Whether you’ve lived a life entirely based in contemplation, an academic philosopher, or just putting your life together, our group offers a platform for you to explore new perspectives, question your beliefs, and grow as a person.
